Town Fire Wardens: BURN PERMITS
ALL OPEN FIRES (except cooking grills) REQUIRE A FIRE PERMIT.

TO OBTAIN A BURNING PERMIT PLEASE CONTACT THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE:

This number may be used if unable to locate a town warden to issue a permit the Dispatcher will contact someone by radio.
Permits are not issued before 8:00 am or after 8:00pm all permits are called in to dispatch over the radio
Permits for Fowlers Beach require permission from the Long Island Civic Association Board of Directors.
BEACH FIRE PERMITS
Beach Fire permits are issued to persons 18 years or older.
All trash must be removed from the beach and placed in trash receptical
Fires must be extinguished with water and not covered with sand and buried
Fires should be made below high tide mark if possible to ensure that the tide will extinguish at high tide (EXTINGUISHING WITH THE 5 GALLON BUCKET IS STILL REQUIRED)
The person signing the permit is responsible for following all state and local laws including littering and leaving a fire unattended
A 5 gallon Bucket is required for all beach fires for relinquishment
FIRE PERMITS ARE ISSUED ACCORDING TO THE FIRE CLASS DAY SET BY THE MAINE FOREST SERVICE AND AVAILABLE MANPOWER FOR SUPPRESSION AND IT IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TOWN WARDEN ISSUING THE PERMIT.
PLEASE RESPECT THE PRIVACY OF THE TOWN WARDENS: DO NOT WALK INTO THEIR HOMES PLEASE KNOCK ON THE DOOR OR CALL AHEAD PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. PERMIT CUT OFF TIME IS 8:00pm
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT BURNING BRUSH ETC. BE DONE AT TIMES THAT IT WILL NOT BE OFFENSIVE TO NEIGHBORS.
Burning of plastics, pressure treated wood, hazardous waste items, lead painted wood are prohibited. Protecting our groundwater is essential and permits will not be issued for burning questionable waste.
FOWLERS BEACH FIRE PERMITS
Permits for Fowlers Beach require permission from the Long Island Civic Association Board of Directors. Current Board Members are:
