Pottery Classes, Wood Shop, Scavenger Hunts, Sports, Line Dancing, Arts & Crafts, Tye Dye, Adventure Walks, Maker’s Market, Wharf Street Festival. Some classes are already sold out, but please keep scrolling – many classes are still available.
Long Island Rec Department summer programs calendar
WEEK OF AUGUST 3-7
Kids Pottery Level 1 Mondays and Wednesdays 9-10:30am, $20/class $220 for six weeks.
Kids Pottery Level 2 Mondays and Wednesdays 10:45-12noon, $20/class $220 for six weeks.
Studio membership options – weekly and monthly. Weekly memberships- Monday-Sunday are $15 a week. Monthly memberships are $50.
Capture the Flag for those ages 7 and older is Tuesday, July 28.
Adult pottery, 4-8pm Tuesdays through August 11. Fees are $50 per class or $275 for six weeks.
Teen pottery – ages 13-17 featuring wheel throwing. Those who join can stop by for Open Studio on Thursdays.
Open Studio classes from 4-8pm on Thursdays through Aug. 13. These classes are available to those who have a teen or adult membership.
Tuesday, August 4, sporting activities includes Yard Pong. The cost is $10. The location is the Long Island Softball field.
Family craft Day is 10am-12noon, Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Long Island Community Center.
A free family cornhole event will be held from 4-6pm, Thursday, Aug. 6. Children under age 7 need an adult present.
Family pottery. 9:30-11:30am, Fridays through Aug. 14. Children under age six are welcome, but need a teen or adult helper.
