Pottery Classes, Wood Shop, Scavenger Hunts, Sports, Line Dancing, Arts & Crafts, Tye Dye, Adventure Walks, Maker’s Market, Wharf Street Festival. Some classes are already sold out, but please keep scrolling – many classes are still available.

Long Island Rec Department summer programs calendar

Special event, Thurday July 30

Adventure Day on Cow Island flyer is for those ages 10–14 on 9:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. , Thursday, July 30. Suggested donation: $20. Activities include ziplining, island exploration, raft building, and games. Limited to 14 participants. Bring lunch, water, a snack, and a change of clothes. Includes a QR code to register and contact information for Maxine Harmon.

WEEK OF JULY 13-17

Kids Pottery Level 1 Mondays and Wednesdays 9-10:30am, $20/class $220 for six weeks.

Studio membership options – weekly and monthly. Weekly memberships- Monday-Sunday are $15 a week. Monthly memberships are $50. 

The Great Long Island Scavenger Hunt! 9a-12noon, Tuesday, July 14. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams. $10 enter.

Soccer is offered at the Long Island Softball field. Please register using the QR code.

Sports for everyone ages 7 and older. $10 for each person. Long Island Softball field.

Adult Pottery for those 18 and older. Monthly memership is $50. These are BYOP events for those 21 and older.

Begininning Line Dancing 4-5pm Wednesday,  July 15. Free, free, free! Join the fun at the VFW Hall.

Kids Pottery Level II for ages 9-12. Sessions are 10:45-12noon through Aug. 12.

Adult pottery, 4-8pm Tuesdays through August 11. Fees are $50 per class or $275 for six weeks.

Bicycle Mechanics Workshop, July 8, 9, 15 or 16, ages 8 and up, $20 per class, $75 entire workshop

Teen pottery – ages 13-17 featuring wheel throwing.  Those who join can stop by for Open Studio on Thursdays.

Yoga with Leslee Clark 9-10am, Thursdays, Long Island Community Center,  $10 per class. 

Open Studio classes from 4-8pm on Thursdays through Aug. 13. These classes are available to those who have a teen or adult membership.

Painting On Nature, July 9th, ages 8 and up, 20$

Bestie Bracelets friendship bracelet making class.  July 16th, $20.  All ages, under 6 needs a helper

Family pottery. 9:30-11:30am, Fridays through Aug. 14. Children under age six are welcome, but need a teen or adult helper.

Week of July 20-24:

 

Cloud Slime, July 21st, $20.  All ages, under 6 needs a helper

Tye Dye Tuesday, July 21st, 9am-12pm, $20 per T-Shirt

Fuze Bead Crafting July 23rd, $20.  All ages, under 6 needs a helper.
