A second in-person forum is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 from 10-11:30am at the Community Center.
The plan is scheduled to be voted on at the town’s May 14 Town Meeting.

Housing Forum
August 18th, 5-6pm, Town Hall and Zoom
As part of the Town of Long Island’s Comprehensive Plan process, the committee is hosting a series of public forums to continue gathering citizen input on specific topics coming out of the survey.
The first forum will focus on Housing. The purpose is to further explore available housing based on themes from the survey. This topic is complex and touches on many other aspects of our town.

Common themes in the survey feedback point to the need for more housing for working families; additional families needed to help sustain our school, to add to the town volunteer pool (Fire and Rescue as an example), and to attract more trade professionals.
To start the forum and give interested attendees something to think about in advance, the meeting will start with a simple question.
“Do you think more available housing is needed to attract working families to the island?”
For those on-site, we’ll provide a few pizzas to get your attention and stay engaged!
