Basketry & Crafts
The Recreation Department is pleased to be part of the
Maine Fiberarts Group
We had a wonderful turnout of participants and visitors for our first
Island Fiber Arts Weekend(August 6-9th).
The participants were treated to free knitting workshops with Nancy Berges and Kate Power.
Our teens had the opportunity to begin a project with 'Altered books' and for the kids we had
basketry materials available to create 'Woven Daisies' with Towanda Brown.
Maggie Carle and Carol Connor were on hand to demonstarte thier crafts of basketry and Fabric Sculture. There was lots of activity at the center for this event and we look forward to continued fiber related activities in the near future.

A special thanks to all the crafters that allowed me to display their lovely hand crafted items, buisness information and demonstration items on Sunday August 9th.
We had a beautiful display with very positive feed back.
