They are formatted for super B size paper (13&#8243; x 19&#8243;) and can be printed by any local print service company. Printed copies are available for viewing at Town Hall. To view them you must have the Google Earth Pro program installed on your computer or device. Google Earth Pro is free and can be downloaded and installed on computers. An updated link will be available shortly.\u00a0 Google Earth Pro is also available for both Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">When you click on the following map links a file will be download to you computer or device. The file can then be opened with Google Earth Pro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/townoflongisland.us\/uploads\/File\/GIS\/LI_2_foot_contours.kmz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Long Island Two-foot Contour Map<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This contour map was created by FEMA and used to make our current floodplain map.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/townoflongisland.us\/uploads\/File\/GIS\/FEMA_LI_Proposed_Flood_Zones_with_Elevation_Contours.kmz\">Current FEMA LI Floodplain Map with Elevation Contours<\/a><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nOur current FEMA flodplain map was adopted by the town at our 2023 town meeting. We have added 2-foot elevation contours over this map up to the maximum flood predicted flood level.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>GIS Maps<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">These maps were created with our GIS software (ArcGIS) and can be viewed with any modern browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone. These spreadsheets are updated throughout the tax year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The data provided in the tax map are for planning purposes only.\u00a0 Although considerable time and grant-money has gone into making them as accurate as possible, some inaccuracies undoubtedly remain.\u00a0 They were created from the paper maps tax maps that the town inherited from the City of Portland after secession.\u00a0 Those paper maps were imperfect to begin with and degraded further over time.\u00a0 The town believes that these data are accurate enough for planning and taxation; however, like any tax map, they represent only an\u00a0estimate\u00a0of the location of lot boundaries and the size and shape of lots.\u00a0 Only a professional survey can determine the exact boundaries and size of your property.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">That said, if you believe that the maps provided here contain errors that would render town planning and taxation work inaccurate, the town may, after consideration, adjust the data to produce are more accurate depiction of your lot characteristics.\u00a0 If you wish to submit changes, please consult with our GIS assistant.
