The Maine  Affordable Housing Coalition invites you to participate in an 
affordable  housing cost containment forum on Monday, January 23rd at  
Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. 
The forum will  run from 9am-3pm and is intended to offer developers, 
managers, builders, and  designers of affordable housing an opportunity to learn 
about both proposed  changes to the state Qualified Allocation Plan to 
incentivize lower  development and operating costs in low income housing tax 
credit projects  (through the addition of a significant number of new points for 
lower project  costs), and specific ways to actually achieve those reduced  
costs. Two expert panels, one covering development and the other covering  
operating/management costs, wil_l offer ideas and strategies for lowering 
costs  in LIHTC projects. 
An agenda for  the day is attached. 
The  registration cost for the forum is $40, which includes a light 
breakfast and  lunch. The registration fee will be collected on the day of the  
event.
