·        Lease payments would accrue to the community and be equal to the taxes that would otherwise be collected as if the land were privately owned.  In addition, taxes would be paid on the home and improvements to the property the same as any other private residence.  For all intents and purposes, the Town owned land is fully back on the tax rolls.

A question on the taxes that will be paid. 

Will the people who get a YRHC deal really be paying the same amount of taxes as someone else who has a house and property?  Or is this a tax break (which will help the YRHC home owners as it lowers their costs of living) because by having the house and land as separate entities the land won't really have the same value?

I wanted to bring this up to be sure it is clear to all so as not to be a sticking point for anyone at the town meeting vote.

If there is a difference in what a YRHC recipient would pay it may be looked at as a good benefit to help them (with expenses), or it may be looked at as "Hey, they get the same services how come they don't have to pay the same taxes as me".
