Town Hall Announcements
Municipal Assistant
The Selectmen are pleased to announce that we have hired Stefanie Millette of Portland, Maine as our Municipal Assistant. She was picked from a long list of candidates and is very qualified for the job. Stefanie began her employment in December and is already hard at work helping us to revise and update our personnel policies, job descriptions, standards of conduct, and public facilities maintenance scheduling. She is currently writing a grant proposal to help fund work that needs to be done on Town Hall and the building next to it. Stefanie will also be serving as a liaison between the community and the Selectmen to address concerns and issues the public may have. She will be overseeing routine duties that will help improve the efficiency with which the town operates. Stefanie will be in the office on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s while Town Hall is open and available to the public.
When Stefanie is not on the island, she is serving Habitat for Humanity of greater Portland as an Americorps member or volunteering at Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine. She brings with her many skills including four certificate courses from the University of Maine in grant research and writing that will be invaluable to this town now and in the future.
Welcome aboard Stefanie!
