Pottery Program
The Recreation Deparment Pottery Program has been a staple of the summer program since 1998. Our spacious studio is located in the Community Center and it is our goal to provide quality instruction while promoting sales of pottery created in our studio.
Additionally, we offer workshops, classes and host special events. We welcome community participation and the studio space is available for rental.
In our fully-equipped studio, we have four electric wheels, two kick wheels and two electric kilns. We have wonderful, dedicated teachers and we are looking forward to Summer of 2010!
Our Pottery Program consists of:
-Classes for all ages
-Open studio time
-Saturday workshops
-An End-of-Summer show celebrating all of the artwork created by our students and staff.
We also host Birthday Parties, Reunion Celebrations and Girls Night Out!
The 2010 Pottery Theme for kids classes is Winnie the Pooh!
Projects will include Magical Story Vessels, Kanga Wall Pockets, Tigger Mugs, Lumpy the Huffalump Teapot, Eeyore Candle Holders and much more.
Space is limited so sign up early. Visit our office during June 21 - 26 for a registration form, or call us @ 766-2805. For further questions, please contact Arts Program Director Towanda Brown at towandaccli@yahoo.com.
