<DIV>Hi All, The Sustainable Islands Conference two weeks ago
in Rockland was outstanding. Everything from wind power to home
gardening to global energy to of course housing.</DIV>
<DIV>I have attached the summary booklet on island affordable housing (No Island
is an Island) that gives a fine overview of what all of the islands are
doing in the realm of housing including us. Hope it is
informative. </DIV>
<DIV> Mary Terry is working on our Senior Housing
Survey, but it is a bit delayed due to her work preparing for this
conference and other Island Institute work. She has produced a very
rough first draft, but will get it more refined after the updates and
input I gave her and I will get it out to
you. We will be looking
for your comments on the survey when it is in more finished
form. </DIV>
<DIV> The senior housing committee (SHC?) is still just
Chee, myself and Mary Terry. If you know of other folks that might
join up, let us know. Mary is turning up contacts and input
into our program concerning making the financing work better. More
details when things gel a bit more. </DIV>
<DIV> Weatherization of Maine homes is going to produce a
lot of work everywhere including here. If someone were interested in
getting certified as an energy auditor, there could be much work here and
on the other islands. Peaks has such a person, but none
are here or on the other Casco Bay islands that I know of.
There will of course be much work doing the weatherizations
for those able to accommodate it. </DIV>
